今日も自分探しの旅を続け、宛てなく歩いて海岸に辿り着きました。波の音と風の匂いが、新しい出発を予感させてくれます。以前、私は魔法戦士として活動し、悪の大魔王を倒すための勇者のパーティーに参加していました。しかし、そのパーティーは、特にリーダーである勇者が最悪でした。彼はこの国の名家出身で、相当甘やかされて育ったワガママな性格でした。そのため、彼の指示は身勝手で思いやりがなく、私はそれを我慢し続けなければなりませんでした。
私は魔法戦士として、異なる属性のモンスターに対して効果的に戦う能力を持っており、ソロでの冒険時代に高いレベルを獲得しました。この能力の高さが評価され、国の騎士である勇者のパーティーにスカウトされました。しかし、魔法戦士としては魔法使いほどの魔力を持たず、戦士ほどの防御力もありません。それでも、攻撃や回復魔法を適材適所で使えるため、戦闘が激しくなるほど私の器用な能力が必要とされ、戦闘終了後には魔力と体力の両方を酷使し、疲弊が絶えない日常を送っていました。しかし、他のメンバーは、それぞれが特化した能力を持ち代りが立てにくいということから、勇者の指示で比較的早い補給を受けてました。戦闘後は、次の宿場町までの長い道のりを引き続き徒歩で向かうのですが、補給が充実し健康状態の良い勇者と仲間たちは、私の苦痛に気付くこともなく、旅行を楽しむ様にペースを上げて歩き続けました。特に勇者はワガママで自分のペースを乱されると、瞬間湯沸かし器のように機嫌が悪くなるため、周りのパーティーもクビになることを恐れ、忖度から、傷だらけの私に意識を回す余裕もなく、勇者の一挙手一投足を追いかけていました。
そんな状況に堪えきれず、先日ついに退職願いを提出しました。そして今、私はこの海岸に立っています。きっと今頃勇者たちは、戦いに苦しみ、私の偉大さが身に染みていることでしょう。この世には、私の様に、人に優しく、人を陰で支える様な素晴らしい人が多く存在します。しかしながら、そのような人の努力を評価せず、自身だけの成果として独り占めする輩や、己の保身のみを考えて忖度をする輩も一定数いる訳です。その為、私はしばらく勇者にも大魔王にも関与せず、これらの理不尽が自然に淘汰・浄化されることを高台から見つめることとしました。
Today I continued my journey of self-discovery and arrived at the beach after walking without a destination. The sound of the waves and the smell of the wind foretell of a new beginning. Previously, I had been a mage warrior’s and had joined a party of heroes to defeat the evil Great Demon King. However, that party was the worst, especially the leader, a brave man. He was from a prominent family in the country and had a selfish personality, having grown up quite spoiled. Therefore, his instructions were selfish and inconsiderate, and I had to keep putting up with them.
As a mage warrior’s, I had the ability to fight effectively against monsters of different attributes and attained high levels during my solo adventuring days. Because of this ability, I was recruited into the party of a brave man who was a knight of the country. However, as a mage warrior’s, he does not possess the same magical power as a wizard, nor does he have the same defense as a warrior. Nevertheless, because I could use attack and recovery magic in the right places, the more intense the battle, the more my dexterity was needed, and after the battle, both my magic and physical strength were overworked, leading to constant exhaustion in my daily life. However, the other members of the group, each of whom had specialized abilities and were difficult to replace, received relatively quick replenishment under the direction of the brave men. After the battle, we continued on foot the long way to the next inn town, but the hero and his companions, who were well supplied and in good health, did not notice my distress and continued to walk at a brisk pace as if enjoying the trip. The brave man was particularly selfish, and if his pace was disturbed, he would get into a bad mood like an instant water heater. The surrounding parties were also afraid of being fired, and from the discovery, they were chasing the brave man’s every move without having time to pay attention to my wounded body.
Unable to bear such a situation, I finally submitted my resignation the other day. And now I am standing here on this beach. I am sure that by now the brave men and women are suffering in battle and my greatness is sinking in. There are many wonderful people in this world, like me, who are kind to others and support them behind their backs. However, there are a certain number of people who do not appreciate the efforts of such people and keep their achievements to themselves, and there are also those who think only of their own self-preservation and make discoveries. For this reason, I have decided to stay away from the heroes and the great demon king for a while, and watch from on high that these unreasonable people will be eliminated and purified naturally.
