今日は、日本最大の同人誌とコスプレの祭典に参加してきました。コスプレを楽しみつつ、同人コミックを買い漁ることが主な目的でしたが、帰り際に思わぬトラブルが発生しました。行きと同じく着てきた洋服を入れていた手提げ鞄を、購入したコミックと同封して自宅に送付してしまったようです。普段はコインロッカーに洋服を預けてから買い物をするのですが、今回はロッカーが満杯で預けられなかったため、買い物袋を梱包する際に手提げ鞄も宅配便に同梱してしまったようなのです。
そのため、帰り道で洋服を購入しようとも思いましたが、今月は預金残高が厳しいため、覚悟を決めてコスプレのまま帰宅しました。会場近くの駅では多くの来場者がまだ点在しており、「素敵！」と称賛していただいたり、写真を求められたりもしました。そこでの反応に気をよくして、コスプレのまま地元駅のスーパーに立ち寄った際に小さな出来事が起こってきました。
今回私が演じたコスプレは、幼女に大人気の美少女アイドル戦士の格好でした。買い物中にすれ違った幼女たちからは歓喜と羨望を集めました。その一方で、少し大きな小学生の子供たちからは「あのお姉さん、いい歳して痛いね…」と、決してコスプレイヤーに向けて言ってはならない暴言を言い放ってきました。本当に腹が立ちましたがまだ子供なのでしぶしぶ許すことにしました。また、夫婦の買い物客に至っては、旦那様が私の胸元や太ももに釘付けになり、それに見かねた奥様が旦那様の手をつねるという人間ドラマにも発展し微笑ましくなりました。やはり、サブカルチャーを日常に持ち込むと浮世離れしてしまう現実を感じながらも、普段とは異なる反応を得たことは、私にとってとても良い刺激になりました。今後も近隣のどこかでコスプレを披露しようと考えています。
Today I attended Japan’s largest doujinshi and cosplay festival. My main purpose was to enjoy cosplay and buy doujinshi comics, but I had an unexpected problem on my way home. As with the trip to the festival, it seems that I had sent the bag I had been carrying with the clothes I had worn home with the comics I had purchased. Normally, I deposit my clothes in a coin locker before shopping, but this time the locker was full and I could not deposit my clothes, so when I packed my shopping bag, my handbag also seemed to have been included in the parcel.
Therefore, I thought about buying some clothes on the way home, but my bank balance was tight this month, so I was prepared and went home in my costume. At the station near the venue, many visitors were still dotted around, and “Lovely!” and some even asked for photos. Feeling good about the reaction there, a small incident occurred when I stopped by a supermarket at a local station in my cosplay.
The cosplay I performed this time was dressed as a beautiful idol warrior who is very popular among young girls. I was the object of much delight and envy from the young girls I passed while shopping.
On the other hand, I was very upset when some of the older elementary school children said things that cosplayers should never say, such as, “That older lady is embarrassing at an old age…” I was very angry. However, I decided to forgive them because they were still children. In the case of a couple of shoppers, the husband’s side was glued to my chest and thighs, and the wife, unable to bear the sight, pinched the husband’s hand, which led to human drama and made me smile. It was a very stimulating experience for me to see the unusual reactions I received, even though I felt the reality that bringing subculture into everyday life can make one’s life seem a little bit out of this world. I am thinking of performing cosplay somewhere in the neighborhood in the future.
